Thanks for all the support for Failed Utopia!!!!!!!!
Thanks Japan ^______^
So the night of the release this was brought to my attention!!! YAY
Failed Utopia was put in motion in late 2011 with the intentions of covering topics that both members of the group face in their lives, outside of being musicians. The general concept of the album is a question that plagues most people, “If you had a second chance to live your life would you do anything different?” The album takes place behind the eyes of someone who has a second chance at life and describes stories, events, and scenarios that he sees differently during his journey. The subject matter consist of- failing to find perfection, getting looked over by someone you are attracted to, abuse, attachment to technology, losing time that can’t be recovered, and how race and religion can affect how one views their life and how others may view them. ENJOY!

Alright, so the project has been moving along quite nicely! I received the last feature last week and now it’s just waiting to be mixed. I have one more song to record still, live instrumentation that needs to be recorded and mixed and etc. This weekend we’ll be releasing the track listing and a little bump for the EP with expected project drop date. Hopefully you all will enjoy the progression!
Follow Almost Always
Ok…So as some of you may know I’m working on a group project with Corey Arnell (producer) under the moniker Almost Always. Right now it’s in the mixing and mastering phase, which is handled by me. I’ve been working with new WAVES plug in bundles so I’ve been testing out some new techniques to add to my skill set. We plan on releasing the project in July, so I have the whole month to tinker with the project to get it sounding as close to what we envisioned as possible. I’m happy with what we have so far, I’d say that the project is 70%-80% complete. I just have one more track to finish writing (only half a verse and a hook), then it’s off to recording, mixing, and mastering. Once I get the final feature (a poet I know by the name of Rob D) mixed and added to the master track and the bass lines added to a few tracks from my homie Sam…the project will be wrapped up. Hopefully I can get everything sounding right before the end of the month so we can get physical copies pressed up and released on the drop day.

It has been a while since the world has heard a beat from me since I’ve been working on “Failed Utopia”. Since I’m not producing anything on the project I’ve been sitting back trying to reinvent my style…come up with new sampling techniques and etc. I decided to start on a beat tape to release this summer entitled, “Pseudo Pastel Sunsets”. This will be a 5 track beat tape set to be released 8/15/12…to mark the 1 year anniversary of “The Cherry Blossom Effect: Endless Dream Theory”.
